Sample Answer

Over the past decade, Western countries have seen a significant rise in the number of children who are overweight. This essay will discuss the causes and effects of this issue.

One main reason is unhealthy eating habits. Fast food is easily available and often chosen by families because it is convenient. However, such food contains high levels of fat and sugar, leading to weight gain. Many parents also rely on processed meals due to busy lifestyles.

Another cause is reduced physical activity. Children spend more time on screens instead of playing outside, which leads to a lack of exercise and increased weight.

This trend has serious effects. Physically, children may develop diseases such as diabetes. Mentally, they may suffer from low confidence and social problems like bullying.

In conclusion, poor diet and lack of exercise are the main reasons for childhood obesity, and this issue leads to both physical and mental health problems.
